oh-so-very-sad death at age 72 in a trailer truck accident in Big Island, VA, With all he achieved in his magnificent career,
Todd is still perhaps best known for his 5:55.8. victory in the mile walk at the 1979 Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden, thus making
Todd "the Roger Bannister of racewalking" as the first man to officially walk a mile in less than six minutes.
One newsbite so brilliant, one more the oh-so-sad goodbye to a brilliant Shore AC teammate.
