60th ANNUAL CAPTAIN ZINN MEMORIAL RACES

Event Details: This event honors all Vietnam Veterans and is named in memory of Captain Ronald Lloyd "Ron" Zinn, a race walker from the United States who was killed in Vietnam in 1965. He graduated from the US Military Academy in 1962 and represented the USA at both the 1960 (Rome) and 1964 (Tokyo) Summer Olympics. He placed 6th in the 20K race walk in 1964. Shore AC has held this race to remember Captain Zinn since 1966. The day features a 5k Run at 10:00am and Race Walk at 10:05am, along with a kids fun run at 9:30AM. Event Details: To continue the great tradition of the NJ International Meet this summer, the Shore Athletic Club is hosting the 37th edition of the meet will offer a full complement of track & field events. The meet will be held at Monmouth University’s new 8 lane track and promises to be one of the highlights of the 2024 track & field season, bringing together the nation’s top athletes along with competition for masters, youth and high school level competitors. It’s a great time to visit the New Jersey shore and take advantage of one our nation’s premier vacation spots. Registration will open on April 16th via Direct Athletics. Event Location: Ranney School - 235 Hope Road Tinton Falls, N.J.
Event Details: Each scheduled Saturday, Shore A.C. hosts a track meet open to athletes of all ages and abilities. In addition to offering jumping and throwing events, each meet holds at least one track race in each of the following categories: sprint, middle-distance, long-distance, race-walk, and relay. These community-based meets traditionally attract hundreds of athletes of all ages, including young girls and boys, high school and college students, post-collegiate athletes, and Masters Competitors up to their 70s and 80s. Pre-registration required. Meets begins at 9:00 AM and the order of events are to be determined.

4TH ANNUAL BIG BANG MILE

Event Details: This is the 4th year of the USATF-NJ Championship Mile event, which offers 10 different mile races on a flat & fast paved road. The day will get started with a fun family and kids 1 mile run at 8:30 AM and be followed by masters races, high school races and open races. The Big Bang Mile will feature a fun STEM themed atmosphere. No same day registration will be allowed, and no pets please!

LAKE TAKANASSEE SUMMER SERIES
Event Dates: Monday Nights, July 1, 8, 22, 29 and August 5, 2024
Event Location: Lake Takanassee – 800 Ocean Avenue, Long Branch, N.J. – Parking behind St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church
Event Details: The series, established in 1964 by Shore A.C, is a weekly 5k race and 1500m kids run held on the perimeter of Lake Takanassee. Between July 1st and August 8th, participants toe the line at 6:45pm. Medals are awarded to the top 3 overall finishers and age group winners in the 5k and the top 3 girls and top 3 boys in the 1500m. Ribbons are awarded to all kids run participants. At the end of the series, consistent top performers earn overall series awards.

ASBURY PARK SHEEHAN CLASSIC

Event Dates: Sunday, September 15, 22 and October 6, 13, 20 and 27, 2024
Event Location: Holmdel Park
Event Details: Every Sunday, Shore A.C. hosts a Youth XC Series at Holmdel Park. This year, the series will be at Holmdel Park on 9/15, 9/22, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20 and 10/27. Competition is offered at various distances, including 400M, 800M, 2K, 3K, and 4K. Finish ribbons to the top 10 finishers in each race every week. On Championship day medals are awarded to the top 10 finishers in each race, and ribbons are awarded to the remainder of the top 10 finishers in just the 400M and 800M races. Trophies will be presented to top 5 individuals and teams on Championship Day. Teams need 3 runners to compete and score.

Event Details: Shore A.C. hosts a 5K run at a distinct location within the Monmouth County Park System (weekly locations to be announced). Local community runners are encouraged to participate as team* members or as individuals while they run through the trails of Monmouth County’s most beautiful and challenging courses. At the conclusion of each race, outstanding performances in overall M/F, age group, and team categories will be recognized. Awards will be presented to teams and athletes who compete in at least 4 of the 6 competitions. *Each team must have at least 3 entrants to be eligible for team scoring and awards.

JERSEY SHORE HALF MARATHON and 2 MILE RACE

Event Details: Beginning on January 9, 1972, the extensive history of the Jersey Shore Half Marathon places it as one of the oldest and most prestigious distance events in New Jersey. Whether preparing for a full marathon or enjoying the gift of fitness, runners are sure to cruise on this flat, fast course through some of the most iconic areas of the Jersey Shore. Additionally, the Jersey Shore Half Marathon offers official pacers, mile split times, race clocks every 2 miles, water stations, and complimentary race t-shirts and medals. Once participants cross the finish line, they can head right on over to the post-race party to celebrate!

61st ANNUAL ASBURY PARK POLAR BEAR RACES

Event Details: Founded 61 years ago by Shore A.C., Polar Bear, the club's longest-standing and most legendary race, has never been rescheduled due to inclement weather. Even after dealing with the devastating effects left by Superstorm Sandy, Shore A.C. organizers proudly kept the annual event up and running. Rest assured, the job always gets done! Rain, snow, or sunshine, the 1 mile race begins at 9:30am. There will be 1 start time to run the 5k challenge at 10:00am. Results will be cumulative. Awards will be given to the overall top 3 male and female finishers and the top male and female finishers in each age group.
