About the Asbury Park Polar Bear Races
54 years ago the Annual Asbury Park Polar Bear Races was founded by our fierce leader and former Olympian, Elliott Denman. Shore A.C. stands proud that this event has never been rescheduled due to inclement weather, which is a very possible variable given the time of year. Even after Sandy, Shore A.C. was able to pull off this event - rest assure the job always gets done! Out of all the events Shore A.C. hosts, this is the longest standing and most legendary race. For the 5K run only - recognition and awards will be given to the overall top 3 male and female finishers in addition to top 3 male and female finishers in each age group - every 5 years. First 400 entrants will get a complimentary t-shirt and completion medal! Walkers will get a t-shirt. Last year turned out to be a beautiful day which resulted in a huge event day turn out! For those that did not receive their t-shirt, they will be available for pick up at registration this year, just ask.
All walkers and runners will get free hot soup thanks to The Robinson Ale House!! We hope you join us - feel free to bring family and friends to kick off the New Year's weekend. Questions, concerns and/or suggestions are welcomed. Please contact Race Director under the contact tab.
