Ashenfelter 8K: Shore AC Saves the Best for Last

Some might compare it to snow in June or the sun going 'round the moon.  Yes, you could say that Shore AC saved the best for last.  What we accomplished at the last race of the USATF New Jersey Association's Paul Miller Auto Group Long Distance Running Team Grand Prix, namely the Ashenfelter 8K race, stunned the local running world.  In this hotly contested event, our women achieved victory in the Open, 40+ and 60+ categories while our men scored a win in 40+ -- and, once errors are corrected, I believe Open as well.  Our other age group teams also fared very well.  What a day!!!

​And what a bustling turnout from Shore AC.  With 31 men and 17 women sacrificing an early Thanksgiving morning for their club, we had 48 club members in all.  That's the largest crowd that we have assembled since before the pandemic, if ever.  Other New Jersey running clubs showed up in strong numbers, including Central Jersey, Clifton, Fleet Feet/Essex, Freedom-GR Project, Garden State Track Club, Leonia, North Jersey Masters and Raritan Valley.  The bountiful masses bode well for the future of our sport in the state of New Jersey.
